Why not ban the word "busy"?
After all it means "occupied" and "occupied" means "unavailable."
Unavailable?
Who decided that "busy" meant "important"?
When did "busy" become a badge of honor? When did "busy" become an excuse?
How were we so deceived? Why did we surrender to the fashionable "busy" as it robbed us of moments with the people who matter?
Why not stop hiding behind counterfeit importance?
Why not say "No" to the mindless drudgery of schedules?
Why not reject the redundant, the transient, the life-sucking labors that deprive us of our humanity?
Thomas Jefferson warned that one must "Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today."
Somehow, we missed the message.
Somehow, we filled our days with chores and "honey-do" lists.
Somehow, we forgot how fragile life is.
Why not say "Yes" when a friend is in need?
Why not say "Yes" to sending a letter, to mailing a card, to making a phone call, to meeting for coffee?
Why not say "Yes" to prioritizing the sacred and demoting the secular.
Never put off till tomorrow the pursuit of living life to the fullest and loving others to the deepest. Today, we can find joy, discover grace, and surrender to faith. Today, we will rise to the challenge to strip away the mask of "busy" and fearlessly embrace the precious gifts in life that matter. Today, we will love and be loved.

I feel you mooched my "Why Not" and just made it like...300%? better. Ha!
Great Piece/Peace in Wisdom...
Great message! It is sad that people often do consider themselves too "busy" for friends. We need to love and appreciate the people in our lives today because you never know what will happen tomorrow.
My brother has always watched Star Wars, but I did not get into it until a couple of years ago. I randomly decided to watch the movies and LOVED them. Now I am a bigger fan than my brother! We should definitely have a Sci-Fi day or maybe just a STAR WARS day!
I am SO looking forward to that independent assignment!
